I think every year around this time it is hard for me to imagine cooler temps and pumpkins. I was hopeful that this year would be different since the Summer felt so long, but alas, it’s the same. I’m not ready for Fall or Winter! This actually makes me quite sad adding pumpkins to my decor lol. Serious though. I waited until the latest possible minute to do it. I tried to decorate for Fall without them, but it just didn’t do. But, the wonderful Marty from
A Walk Thru Lifeis hosting the Fall Home Tours this week, so I had to get over myself and attempt to welcome Fall:-RRB-.
If you are coming from
We moved into our custom home about 7 years back. He clearly didn’t understand what he was getting himself in to:-RRB- He used to leave the home for the day if I was doing a huge project, but he’s gotten much better and now just leaves the room. We were thinking about building a new house this previous Spring, but have decided to remain and accept this beautiful home we have … for now.I’ll be publishing one more trip up next week that will include our bedroom and BIG modifications in my living room. For now, here’s our house!
Our entry way got a huge update this spring with these.
double barn doors. This completely transformed this area! Bench, rug, white pillow, clock: Home Item Grey pillow and throw: Ikea
Here’s the other side of the entry hall and stair case that you see as you enter our home. I wasn’t sure which direction to go with Fall this year. I was trying to add some bright oranges and yellows, but I ultimately decided on a soft grey.
Console Table: Target Sofa Bed: Ikea.
Our front room was made into a quasi guest room when guests come over and functions as mountain of toys all other times. This couch is my fave from Ikea. It’s also a pull out bed.
And this little bench houses a ton of fun little toys. I’m all about multi-purpose furniture 🙂
The mantel on our
was the very first thing to get embellished. I put no believed into this. Simply grabbed all my pumpkins out of a bag and threw them up there … and it ended up looking decent lol.wood mirror.
As for our dining room. I had a grande vision of all white and brown with pops of maroon from these mums. But, alas, my mums have yet to bloom. Maybe I’ll update this picture when they are full of color 🙂
For the sideboard, I just moved a few mugs out of the way and added a ton of little pumpkins on this 3-tier stand.
I kept everything else simple with whites and creams on the pillows. That
has actually been a staple in my dining space for several years now; I’m truthfully believe it’s the only thing that has stayed the exact same in our home for that long lol.Bench: House Item White pillow cases: Ikea White boxes: Home Depot Carpet: Ikea Chairs: Ikea.
As for the exit, here’s the other view of our entry way. I just love this staircase and the two story foyer. It’s probably one of my fave views in the house!
Thank you for dropping by! Be sure to check back next week with some more room tours!
