I’m so excited about today’s Christmas Style Series: Farmhouse Christmas Style!
Farmhouse Style is everywhere these days, thanks in part to the huge success of Chip and Jo-Anna Gaines and Fixer Upper Style.
But we can’t forget that farmhouse style; and farmhouse Christmas style, actually has deep roots. Like, really deep roots.
It’s rooted in the past. In tradition. In the lives of the real people and lived on farms and worked the land for generations.
I think that’s why it speaks to so many people. Because, truly, elements of farmhouse style go back into our own shared past.
The key thing in any farmhouse style is that your decor feels collected. Aged. Loved. Repurposed.
Key elements in a farmhouse home include white painted planked walls; wide plank wood flooring; white kitchen cabinets; a farmhouse sink; mason jars; burlap; rustic touches; natural greenery; and classic accessories. Throw in some slipcovered furniture, traditional prints and plaid; and a lot of decor elements that look handmade and you’ve got yourself farmhouse style.
So for Christmas this translates into lots of natural greenery. Handmade ornaments. Signs. Chalkboards. Galvanized buckets. A fabulously styled entryway. A natural and relaxed Christmas tree. And lots of beautiful collected and vintage accessories that are layered and layered upon one another.
Today I’ve collected some beautiful examples of Farmhouse Christmas Style.
