Even though we are not quite done decorating our farmhouse for christmas yet, or what parts of our farmhouse that are not under construction at least, I wanted to join my friends today in the Holiday House Walk with Jen Rizzo. So, today I want to welcome you in our home here at White Cottage Farm & take you on the tour of what our home is looking like for the holidays so far. Because even though we are living in a fixer upper, it’s not going to stop me from decorating for the holidays…
So grab your coffee & come on in! If you are coming from the first stop on the Holiday House walk, Jen Rizzo [here], thank you for stopping by! & if you haven’t stopped by her beautiful home, be sure to head there after this tour! Let’s start in the sunroom…
This room is one of the very few in the home that is not under construction. It’s right off of the kitchen & we tend to use this space as our main living room at the moment since the other two have not been worked on yet. This room is super cozy & of course we love the view out onto the farm through all of the windows. I chose to go super neutral in this room since I wanted to keep it peaceful & calming because we all know living in a fixer upper isn’t always easy. Also the neutral decor really makes the view outside stand out. My favorite items int his room are two cozy details I picked up from Wayfair this season. The first is a pillow I have been eyeing for months now which I finally picked up & I’ve never loved a pillow more [here]. The detail is so amazing & they add the perfect cottage feel to our farmhouse. I also picked up those lovely striped stockings from Wayfair [here] & I love the neutral simplicity they add to the space. You can see more of this space & more sources [here]. Now let’s stop in the dining room…
This room is the closest room to being done. It’s kind of where we started in or renovations 6 months ago. Don’t get me wrong, there is still so much to do in here, but it’s the light at the end of the tunnel in our 1800’s farmhouse renovation. The chandeliers from Lowes are a focal point over our antique dining room table. The white distressed dining chairs from All Modern [here] work really well against the dark wood of the table. For the centerpiece I put some faux trees from Homegoods in vintage rusty sap buckets & used some ornaments also from HomeGoods mixed in. This room has a rustic glam feel for the holidays & you can read more about it & see more of it [here]. Now on to my favorite Christmas cabinet this season…
This is a pretty corner of our farmhouse that I absolutely love walking by each day. I love all the chippy white & some of my favorite antique finds. & that ornament garland from HomeGoods is one of my favorite pieces of Christmas decor. I wish I could find 10 more for other areas of our house! You can see more & read more about this little corner [here]. Now on to our master bedroom…
Our bedroom is the only place in our home [so far] that I used pops of red in. If you saw our Christmas home tour last year [here], you know I used a ton of red last year, but this year in all the chaos of our new home & renovations I decided to stick with simple and neutral. But in our bedroom I decided to bring in a few fun pops of red with pillows that are all from Target, Pottery Barn, & Fabric Scout Studio. The big sign from my pal, Feather & Birch, is the beautiful focal point above the bed & it’s my kind of Christmas decor. You can read more about our Christmas bedroom [here]. & the last stop on today’s tour in our farmhouse is a mantel in our home with a cute little Christmas village from the dollar section at Target…
Can you believe these little houses were found in the dollar spot at Target? & just like that it created one of my most favorite corners in our home this holiday season. You can read more about this mantel & the holiday decor on it [here].
Thank you guys so much for stopping by our farmhouse all decked out for the holidays today. Next on the holiday tour is one of my favorite people on the entire planet, Lucy from Craftberry Bush. Be sure to head on over to her home tour [here]. Thank you guys again & be sure to follow along with me on Facebook & Instagram & also stop back daily here on the blog to see what I am up to. More holiday decor to come this season!
