Although I hate to admit it, I actually spend quite a lot of time in the kitchen.
Between the hour long pep talks I give myself each time I know dinner is fast approaching and the act of cooking itself, that’s half my day gone. Just like that.
It’s no surprise then that by the end of of it all, my kitchen counters can look really untidy – and that’s even after I’ve scrubbed them clean. I have about a million things that ‘temporarily live’ on its surfaces, i.e stacks of papers, books, wires, cookware (you name it, its there!) I tell myself that these are things that need to be there, but who am I kidding?
It’s all just clutter…
So in honour of a new year and a resolution to get my life into some sort of order, I’ve decided to tackle said clutter head on.
Thats right.
I’ve found some easy solutions for ways to declutter kitchen counters. You’re gonna love them, I can feel it in my bones!

1. CHARGERS/WIRES: Rid your kitchen surfaces of phone or tablet charger wires with this hanging DIY charger station.
Or build an on counter charging station from wood boards if your plug sockets happen to be on your backsplash (like mine).
2. FRESH PRODUCE doesn’t have to live in your standard fruit bowls. You can place fruits, vegs and/or herbs in a tiered stand like this one (this can also be DIY-ed from baking tins and candles sticks!)
or use recycled planters and attach them to the wall like this. Neat idea huh?
