Today I’m thrilled to share a little trip of our cooking area and upgraded breakfast nook with you lovely people. Let me begin off by stating that if you’re looking for a perfect, magazine worthy kitchen area this is not it. Not even close. What we have is a comfortable little kitchen in a 1980s fixer upper. The ceilings are low, the area is restricted, and our sink desperately needs changing. And despite the fact that it’s not my dream cooking area, we make it work and I’ve pertained to like its quirky style. I’m likewise sharing our bright and brilliant breakfast nook, which has a new trendy indication and a few other enjoyable changes.
I literally walked out of the store with the cheesiest smile ever. I love this indication and it works perfectly it in this area. Decoration Takes –.they provide this sign on a flash sale from time to time.
When we didn’t have a lot of additional money to spend on decoration, this pastry shop sign was a DIY task I did last year. It was extremely simple, you don’t require any elegant machine to do it, and it was virtually complimentary. Free is always excellent.
I lastly moved my blackboard out of this spot and changed it with these wire baskets. I discovered these at Pastime Lobby, however you can find them everywhere. I like the contrast of the black baskets and the white planked wall.
If you wonder about the shiplap, aka planked wall, head on over to. this post. where I shared the step-by-step procedure. I did it all myself, it was my first time even utilizing a skillsaw, however I did it and I still have all 10 fingers. Winning!
This wall separating the living-room and kitchen area is on my to-do list of things to take down. It’s a load bearing wall and will definitely be a huge project. I’m hoping it isn’t too far off, however for now it remains safe from the sledge hammer. Lucky wall.
I’ve loved it ever because. It works completely in our kitchen area now, specifically since we do not have a lot of area to work with. to this post.
Yep, we have a working intercom in our home. It’s actually one of my favorite things about our house. Plus the intercom works with the doorbell, so we can talk to anyone waiting at the front door.
I hope you guys like this little tour of our updated breakfast nook and kitchen area. I absolulty love our breakfast nook location, we’ve put a lot of work into over the previous year, however I constantly find myself thinking twice to share the kitchen area since I understand it’s not much to look at. I’m a firm believer in loving the house you have and being grateful every day. Sure it’s not big, I do not have a huge farmhouse sink with butcher block countertops, and the ceiling is only 7 feet high, but it’s a comfortable little kitchen area that’s complete of laughter, dance parties, and sweet memories– which’s all we need. I hope this inspires you to love the house you have, even if it’s not ideal. Excellence is boring anyhow, right?
