Cutting Edge Stencils Shares Stenciled Gold Home Decor and Room Ideas

Good morning, my home decor trendsetters!  Have you noticed gold popping up everywhere in the home decor world these days? Yeah, us too and Cutting Edge Stencils is LOVING the idea! Gleaming, glittering, and totally glamorous, this precious color adds sparkle to any home.  There’s just something about throwing a flash of warm metallic in a room that makes it seem classy and interesting.

Take this roundup of gold home decor items found on BHG as a prime example.   Michael Wurm, designer and BHG blog writer says, “I’m loving the way that designers are introducing gold in both big and small ways. It could be something as simple as swapping out silver flatware for gold.”  We have to agree that these items are pretty glamorous!

Let’s start by introducing a touch of gold in an unexpected place, like a planter pot.  Take the lead from Whitney, the DIY craft queen from Drab to Fab Design.  She had a boring, dingy planter pot that was in desperate need of a makeover.  We sent her our Shipibo Craft Stencil and presto chango, she turned it into this! You can read the tutorial on our blog.

Or consider putting a gold touch on a piece of furniture like our fab fan, Michelle did.  She refinished a beat up table in purple chalk paint and topped it off with a gold metallic Zinnia Grande Stencil!  We love it!

Do you have an old coffee tray sitting around?  Let’s glam that baby up with a little stenciled gold like this one! Carmela from Our Fifth House had an old coffee tray that she had painted white.  She decided to give it some bling using the Athena Stencil in gold.  You can check out her blog for the deets but here is the final result!  All we can say is WOW!

Perhaps you’d like to add a sparkly accent wall in your closet like Kate, from Centsational Girl.  She painted her walls in Benjamin Moore’s mellow pink 2094-70 and then stenciled the Budding Clematis Stencil in champagne metallic paint.  We love the whimsical touch, don’t you?

But wait, we have another gold-stenciled closet to show off!  Danielle, from 1868 Pleasant chose to add a metallic Chevron Stencil to the inside of her closet.  To get this stunning look she used glitter paint, similar to Benjamin Moore’s Studio Finishes Glitter Paint.  Pretty awesome, right?  Who wouldn’t want to have a sparkly stripe dressing up their closet!!

Ready to go bold with gold? Pamela from the blog PBJ Stories sure did!  She used the Chevron Allover Stencil to transform the ceiling of her daughter’s nursery.  It looks smokin’, Pamela!

What are some of our favorite gold paints?

Well you can check out Ceramcoat 14kt Gold or Modern Masters in Gold Rush or Pale Gold.  These brands can be found at your local craft store like Michaels or JoAnn’s.  We also like Benjamin Moore’s Studio Finishes Glitter Paint.
